Always popular these unique sock blanks will produce a pair of picture socks, as you unravel so the picture appears! Quite magical.
The first one is based on a photograph of sunflowers in Italy, taken by my old mate Maureen. The second is an impression of a seascape.
These sock blanks can take up to 2 1/2 hours to paint but are really amazing. Why be satisfied with stripey socks when you can have picture socks?

New sock blanks
Hand painted abstract sock blank-new to shop
After experimenting with a few scarf length sock blanks I am now having them knitted up by my pal Sheena. I can now offer blanks that have 2 strands for knitters who enjoy knitting 2 socks at a time knowing they’ll have matching ones when they’re finished. (It’s never bothered me having ‘odd’ socks!) I had a plan for the first one but it went awry as soon as I put the sponge into the dye, I realised my lines were too thick for my planned design. I have other designs in the pipeline so keep an eye out in my etsy shop if you love knitting socks.

Hand dyed sock blank socks
Have almost finished the first pair of socks knitted from the sock blank ‘scarf’ which I hand painted. It was painted with 3 colours then steamed to set the dye. I don’t like the colours at all but at least I’ll have a warm pair of socks at the end of the experiment. Had to have a friend help me graft the toe on sock no 1 but I fully intend to have go myself on sock no 2.
