I decided the time was nigh to make myself a striking banner to use when I’m out and about. I need something that would last and take the bad weather that we have to put up with sometimes so this is what I came up with.
Made from a felted blanket, a felted scarf, some buttons and silk thread (hand spun of course).

It can be pinned to my table cloth!

Now my yarn can have a professional look with their own ‘brand’ labels. Kindly designed by a good friend I can use these bands on any of my hand dyed yarns. Room for all the relevant information they are neat and subtle not detracting from the colourful yarn they surround. Will take me a while to complete labelling all my stock but it will be worth it in the end.
I have added quite a few ‘mill ends’ and hand dyed Brand name yarns to my stock so it’s not just sock yarn! Put the kettle on and take a look see!

Today is National farm open day and my very favourite farm will be open to the public-Spring Farm in Fletching, Nr Uckfield East Sussex. I will be spinning some of the alpaca fibre the animals produce and will have some items for sale. Not only is it National farm open day it’s also Fletching open garden trail so if the lure of the alpacas is not enough to tempt you to visit Fletching there are pretty gardens to see too!
Spring Farm is a little way from the village but very much worth a ten minute walk.
